FAQ’s

If my child is not diagnosed with dyslexia would OG be a good option?

Yes of course! Orton Gillingham instruction is individualized and is helpful for most young readers who are struggling to become a successful reader.

What is Orton Gillingham Instruction?

OG instruction is a direct, explicit, multi-sensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia.  It is most properly understood and practiced as an approach, not a method, program, or system. In the hands of a well-trained and experienced instructor, it is a powerful tool of exceptional breadth, depth, and flexibility. - Orton Gillingham Academy

What is Dyslexia?

In summary, Dyslexia is an unexpected delay in reading based on one’s cognitive intelligence.
