Giving your child the chance to become an independent learner.
I am a former early childhood special educator. I have worked with students from grades Pre-K - 5th grade. During my 8 years of teaching I continued to educate myself through professional development and it is where my love for the Science of Reading began. I went through Orton Gillingham training and began applying what I knew with my students. The progress that my students made was tremendous. I continued to train in this area and became a OG classroom educator. I then began a masters program at Mount Saint Joseph in Reading Science, where I used my students as practicum students throughout the program. Since graduating, I am now a certified Dyslexia Specialist and specialize in working with students who are struggling with reading success. I believe very strongly in EARLY intervention and love working with students as early as PK or kindergarten and as late as 3rd grade to begin a reading journey specific to that child’s needs.
